Last Tuesday a devastating tornado hit the Southern states; Arkansas and Tenessee were hit with the most damage, with 13 and 31 people killed, consecutively. The tornadoes proved to be irregular in that they were "long-track" tornadoes, meaning they stayed on the ground for long periods of time, causing even more destruction. Homes, trailer parks, and even universities were torn apart and many lost family members due to the storms. The South had not experienced such extensive damage from a tornado since the lethal February tornadoes of 1971; the deadly tornadoes surprised everyone, reaching up to 150 miles per hour and tearing apart homes, communities and lives. Overall, more than 55 people were killed and more than 300 people injured. Some point their fingers to global warming, although there is no proof global warming is a cause, and some argue that Bush should take a more active role in repairing the Southern cities affected. Either way, weather-induced destruction to such a vast proportion leads to questions concerning G-d. Do incidents like the tornadoes waver your faith in G-d or strengthen it? Personally, I think having faith in G-d can offer answers in devastating situations. What do you think?
