Each month, Adam brings you hot and current news on our past cover girls/guys, as well as the stars we feature in our PopLife interviews. Since JVibe gets the first scoop on young stars like our Jan/Feb 2007 cover guy Joe Trohman from Fall Out Boy and March/April 2007’s Sara Paxton, we want to keep you updated on their success! Then, when they become as huge as past cover-celebs like Natalie Portman and Zach Braff (don’t worry, we’ve got them covered, too), you can say you saw it back in the day when JVibe got the story. In this corner of our Pop Culture section, Adam will always be here with Adam’s Vibe, covering the Jews you love most. (And if you’ve missed seeing them in print, subscribe now to JVibe magazine.)

Natalie Portman (Love/Sex, June/July 2005 & Power of Speech, January/February 2008) is part of a new viral video on YouTube that attempts to use reverse psychology to get young people to vote in tomorrow’s presidential election. Portman, along with a select group of noted stars, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston and Tobey Maguire, plead with viewers to make their voices heard, saying that voting is a civic duty and the only true way to effect change. View the video here, and don’t forget to vote if you’re eligible.

As noted in our Vibe from September, Ethan Zohn (Misfit Issue, February/March 2005) was dribbling his way south in his mission to reach Washington, D.C., by Dec. 1, World AIDS Day, and raise money to fight AIDS in Africa—until recently, that is, when he sustained an injury during a fundraising soccer match. But the Survivor: Africa winner and cofounder of Grassroot Soccer plans to continue his journey by car while his teammates dribble on his behalf. Zohn’s journey has already covered 208 miles starting in Boston, and he has raised over $5,000 so far with his efforts. For more information, check out Ethan’s Dribble 2008 website.

Andy Samberg (Strength, September/October 2007) is up to his old tricks on Saturday Night Live, this time with his hysterical portrayal of Mark Wahlberg talking to animals. The ridiculous bit is now an online sensation, but Mr. Wahlberg himself wasn’t too amused. “I didn’t think it was as funny as I’d hoped,” he said to MTV last week. We disagree!

Adam Brody’s (Truth, January/February 2006) newest movie, Death in Love, premiered at the Boston Jewish Film Festival in mid-September. The movie depicts the effect of a Jewish woman’s love affair with the doctor in charge of human experiments in a Nazi concentration camp on the lives of her sons many years later. Brody plays the love interest of one of those sons, set in the 1990s. For more information on Death in Love, check out the official website.

David Wain (Peace, May/June 2008) and Craig Wedren’s (Journeys, May/June 2007) newest movie, Role Models, premieres in theaters on Nov. 7. Co-written and directed by Wain, with music written by Craig Wedren, Role Models stars Paul Rudd (the other co-writer) and Seann William Scott as Danny and Wheeler, two salesmen who trash a company truck on an energy drink-fueled bender. Upon their arrest, the court gives them a choice: do hard time or spend 150 hours with a mentorship program. After one day with the kids, however, jail doesn’t look half bad. For more information, check out the official website.
