Each month, Adam brings you hot and current news on our past cover girls/guys, as well as the stars we feature in our PopLife interviews. Since JVibe gets the first scoop on young stars like our Jan/Feb cover guy Joe Trohman from Fall Out Boy and March/April's Sara Paxton, we want to keep you updated on their success! Then, when they become as huge as past cover-celebs like Natalie Portman and Zach Braff (don't worry, we've got them covered, too), you can say you saw it back in the day when JVibe got the story. In this corner of our Pop Culture section, Adam will always be here with Adam's Vibe on the Jews you love most. (And if you've missed seeing them in print, subscribe now to JVibe magazine.)

Boston Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis (Take Action, September/October 2005) has inked a deal to promote an energy drink called SlumpBuster, geared toward athletes and fans.  Youkilis will be the lead spokesman for the new drink, which hits stores early this year. Word is that Youkilis is working on a special edition “Youk’s Signature” SlumpBuster, and a portion of the proceeds from the drink will be donated to Youkilis’s charity, Hits for Kids. For more information on SlumpBuster, click here.

Emmanuelle Chriqui (Remembrance, March/April 2006) is set to co-star in Adam Sandler’s newest movie entitled, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, which will be released in June. Zohan (Sandler) is the top agent in Israel’s Mossad agency who gets tired of the constant fighting, but his only means of escape is to fake his own death. Relocating to New York City, he reinvents himself as a top hairstylist who gives his female customers great hairdos; Chriqui plays one of those customers in the movie. Check out the movie’s official website here and look for a preview in the May/June issue of JVibe.

Natalie Portman’s (Love/Sex, June/July 2005 and Power of Speech, January/February 2008) newest movie, The Other Boleyn Girl, hits theaters on February 29. In the movie, Portman plays Anne, who competes with her sister Mary (Scarlett Johansson) for the love interest of 16th-century King Henry VIII, played by Eric Bana. Based on the best-selling novel by Philippa Gregory and directed by Justin Chadwick, this lust-filled drama could be a surprise hit for those who enjoy Portman in period pieces. For more information on the movie, check out its official website here.

Sara Paxton’s (Pride Issue, March/April 2007) new movie, Superhero!, a parody of superhero films, including Batman Begins, Superman Returns and Fantastic Four, hits theaters on March 21. Created by David Zucker of Airplane! and Naked Gun! fame, we’re hoping that Superhero! can live up to its fun-loving hype and deserves the exclamation point.

Ethan Zohn (Misfit Issue, February/March 2005) has recently updated his Grassroots Soccer website and blog and is raving about the organization’s recent success in the fight against AIDS in South Africa. Check out the progress at www.ezohn.com.

Objective Oprah
Everyone’s favorite pro-Barack Obama talk-show host has recently given Rabbi Shmuley Boteach (host of TLC’s Shalom in the Home) his own show on her XM radio channel, but the news doesn’t sit well with political flaks. The reason? Rabbi Boteach has previously shown support for Rudy Giuliani’s presidential bid.

Picture perfect
Jewish fav Natalie Portman recently did a photo shoot for The New York Times. Check out the cool, artsy photos here.

Actress Susan Sarandon recently ticked off the Jewish Voice for Peace when she crossed its picket line to attend a cocktail party at jeweler Lev Leviev’s Madison Avenue store. The organization recently called for a boycott against the bling king because they claim he supports Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
